Logline:

A group of friends gather to play D&D online but find quarantine related obstacles get in their way.

Synopsis:

Maddy really needs this virtual D&D session to go well. It’s been months since the pandemic hit and she could really use some human contact. As the DM she’s always prepared, but she’s quickly realizing nothing can prepare you for all the challenges each player is facing in extended quarantine.

Joining Call is inspired by the major life shift we all have faced during quarantine. It’s the story of a group of people trying to connect via video chat to play D&D, but issues keep getting in the way. Things like kids not going to bed, couples at each other throats, and you know, basic internet connection problems. It’s a heartfelt and honest look at what it takes to connect with friends during a global pandemic.
